How does rescuing happen?

Rescuing happens and is needed when an owner either quits the game, or takes a very long vacation away from the game.  When the person does not play for a long period of time, no matter what the reason, his or her horses' health will go down.

A horse has to be at -140% vet or farrier to be rescued, and/or they have to be at -14 days feed. Health does not really have anything to do with it. Especially when feed is involved.

Many the misconception is made that when the horse is at 11%, then the horse is rescuable. If the owner continues to ignore the horse, then the health goes down as does the feed. The health can be at absolute 100%, but if the feed goes to -14 days, then the horse is rescuable. If the horse has 100 million days of feed, but the vet AND farrier health is -140%, then the horse is rescuable.

How do I rescue horses?

Rescuing a horse is an easy process, finding a horse to rescue is a little more difficult.  Sometimes the horse has **dying** by its name when it can be rescued, but it's a very rare thing anymore due to the fact that many players visit the horses they know to be dying.  If you want to find a horse that needs to be rescued, personally visit each horse's page to see if it can be rescued.  When you get to a horse that needs to be rescued, you'll see a button below the vet/farrier messages. Just simply click this button and you have successfully rescued the horse! The game automatically sends the horse to your account IF you have room and you'll see the horse's name at the top of your main account page.

There's a stable/player who has not been active, but their horses are fine. Why?

There are various reasons for this, depending on the account type.

If it is a basic player account, another player could be taking care of the horses for the player that is away.

If it is an upgraded account (stable account), the likely reason is that the stable owner has turned on "away account".

One of the benefits of an upgraded account (stable account) is that there is the option to "turn on away account".

This means that if the owner knows that they are not going to be playing, they choose this option and all their horses stay in the same condition as when the feature was turned on. The horses will still age, but healthwise condition and available feed does not change.

So I have rescued my first horse, now what?

Now go to your horses page and click on the horses name that you have just rescued.  Now that you have the horse YOU have to get it back to health.  **As soon as you rescue your horse, check its food amount, then give it one vet visit and one farrier visit.**  Usually this will prevent someone else from rescuing the same horse.

1. Make sure horse has enough feed.  At least give it hay to get rid of the negative balance.  Then you can give it several more hays.  Lastly give it a mixed feed to turn all hay into mixed feed.  It will be worth it as you go along.

2. Get Vet health up.  This usually takes two or three $1,000 vet visits.

3. Get Farrier health up, which usually takes two or three $500 farrier visits.

**Do not use tonics to get the rescued horse healthy as this will only make you go poor because tonics at this point don't work.  If you use 3 Vet visits, and 3 Farrier visits, that in itself is $4,500.  Then give it hay about 7 times ($700) then mixed feed once ($900).  This should be plenty of food for the life of your horse.  The total cost of rescuing a WOSE horse should be no more than $6,100.  (This does not include stabling your horse at a Blue Ribbon Stable.)

Remember to be quick though another stable could rescue that horse from you!  **As soon as you rescue your horse, check its food amount, then give it one vet visit and one farrier visit.**  Usually this will prevent someone else from rescuing the same horse.

How does rescuing happen?

Rescuing happens and is needed when an owner either quits the game, or takes a very long vacation away from the game.  When the person does not play for a long period of time, no matter what the reason, his or her horses' health will go down. Normally after two weeks a horse without any care will be available for rescue.  Eventually the health will be so bad that another player has the option of rescuing the horse.

How do I rescue horses?

Most people will just randomly find horses for rescue when looking at a horses pedigree or foals, however another option is to check horses of a certain breed and grade at a time. Another way is to search for trainers or stable owners who have been away for a week or more. Finding a trainer or stable owner who has not been on will be the best way of finding horses to rescue.

When on a horses page, if the horse can be rescued a button will appear under the horses pictures saying: "rescue this horse".

There's a stable/trainer who have not been active, but their horses are fine. Why?

There are several explanations. Firstly if it was a stable you could, a trainer could be looking after them and vice versa.

The other reason is that the stable owner has a racetrack. One of the benefits of a racetrack is that there is the option to "turn on away account", this means that if the owner knows that they are not going to be playing, they choose this option and all their horses stay in the same condition to when the feature was turned on. The horses are not paused as they will still age, but health wise condition does not change.

So I have rescued my first horse, now what?

Now go to your horses page and click on the horses name that you have just rescued.  Now that you have the horse YOU have to get it back to health.  When I get a horse that I just rescued I do the following things.

1. Make sure horse has enough feed, water and mucked out.

2. Groom the horse

3. Get Vet health up to snuff

4. Get farrier up to snuff
